Has anyone taken these? What sort of level do you have to be for each stage? About how much does each exam cost? Sorry this is just a string of questions but I really want to do some exams, I'm still relatively new to riding and I want to find the best way into the system. Can anyone advise? Incidentally I was looking at the exam section of this site and I think it is so disappointing that the BHS can't give out results on the day anymore because of abusive students and parents. Again, what do people think?
Thanks!

Sorry more questions! I know you can take them at your own stables as long as they are BHS approved but does anyone know whether the examiner is external or can it be someone from your stables (I assume not)? Also there are only two of us wanting to do it - do you take the test in the school on your own or with others, will two be enough for an exam? All information gratefully received!
Thanks!

The tests are taken as modules - PRT1 is very basic, haven't got it in front of me but not unlike PC D test. You don't have to do it all in one go, as you achieve the task at the appropriate level, your instructor ticks the box and you go on to the next bit.
When you have achieved all 6 tests, you will be granted direct access to BHS stage 2. Contact c.doran@bhs.org.uk for further details. Our riding club was working on them tonight, that's how I know!
