would like some ideas! she is a pure bred arab and is 11 years old ..admittedly iv only shown her one season and this season is looking dodgy :o due to big lack of a saddle that fits:rolleyes: however although i think she is wonderful i sometimes think shes more (well i put it )"sports horse" than arab :D i think she has a rather short neck for an arab (though i have to admit im not experienced with arabs or actualy correct conformation)i was considering working hunter as she can jump very nicely it just the rider thats not so good:p but really would like something where we keep feet more on the ground? anyone got any ideas for classes we could enter? and of course i will include a pic so you can judge.

You can always do the arab classes even though shes not very typey. I have to admit her confirmation is not brilliant but it's not terrible either.
You can always do your height class, e.g 14.2 and under/over. And maybe riding horse. She's not really built as a hunter but theres no reason why you can't go in the working hunter classes.
The best ones to do if your not sure are tack and turnout and the novelty classes, eg prettiest mare to see if you even like showing, go round the show and see what classes you think she would suit.

could you by anychance point out where her conformation is not so good?!its the only way im going to learn :) i do think she has a short neck, and is bum high. and maybe her shoulder is a little upright?although saying that one saddler said she had nice shoulders but either way i cant find a saddle to fit them hehehe. i know she lacks a good top line too!!

Her shoulder is fine.
She does seem croup high and is very upright in her pasterns and fetlocks.
Her neck is the major thing though. It looks to long and thin for her body yet too short for the size of her head. She's really quite out of proportion there. You really need to work on her topline especially getting the neck more arched and rounded.:o
As for what makes her 'untypey' the major thing is that her head isn't dished enough, it's practically flat. Her eyes need to be larger and her ears (though i can't quite see properly from this angle) more pointed. Se looks a bit heavy set around the shoulders and her bone a little large. But that is very very picky of me.:p

Try longreining to improve her topline. You could also try strapping her, but I gather it's hard on the arms.

thanks flintybaby:D
daffy dilly-i started strapping her but then heard somewhere to do it after exercise only so i have stopped for the moment as shes hardly in anywork at all.
i will try long reining her iv done it a couple of times before and she seemed to really enjoy it i stopped cause she got a bit silly out but ill try it in the school!!
im goign to try and get a physio out to her when i get some money together as her back is rather tense and im wondering if this is causing a week topline also.(i have had an oestopath look at her as well about 6 months ago)

I would say hack more than workers myself :) once she is back in work with nice topline and dropped some weight. She doesnt have enough bone for workers and wouldnt look very good in the ring next to others....... well depends on her height. But shes nice and danty enough for a nice hack :) but as ilostmymarbles (love the name) said not as dainty as a good full arab would be.

Lovely headshots tho!! can see why you'd want that professional one!! :D

shes about 15.1hh i think so no pony im guessing she would look alittle small in workers !:o

i just had to have to professional one they even covered where shed scraped herself for me  added bonous was that was are first ridden show and she won the class :D (it was a mixed arab and part-bred or as it turned out partbred with an arab class!! )
