Hi,

i've mentioned in a few posts that jerry and i have our first show tomorrow...

i'm normally ok with show's but i think because it took me so long to get used to him that the nerves have exploded.

I am free to admit that since leaving school and starting uni i have gained 2stone:o i'm only a little person and can't really get away with it so last night i tried on my long leather riding boots..i couldnt even get my foot in! then i went for my show jacket which fitted me last year but when i put it on i spent 10mins hauling at the chest bottons trying to persude them to close, at last i managed it and went through to show the OH how i had ballooned and moved my shoulders back an inch when *ping* and *crash* the buttons come flying off and smack into the window:o

So then i get a call from my friend...jerry had lost a shoe and they wern't sure if the farrier could make it to the yard, oh and erm her mum who is stiching up jerry's plaits and clipping his feathers as i am accident prone(think i gave a good example with the jacket:rolleyes: ) had a bad fall and has 2broken ribs and a concussion.

to add fuel to the fire i then hop onto my uni email, i have 2essay's to write for the 16th april, or so i thought, they are due in this tues and i haven't started them yet...so if anyone knows anything about how, in weber's view the the reformation contributed to the western rationalisation of the world giving reference to capitalism, please do let me know:)

**palomino mare counts out her monies and heads to derby house to buy a new jacket and leather gaiters whilst begging someone to plait her horse, clip his feathers, put a new shoe on, give her a miracle weight-loss cure and write her 2essays**

Oh Amy, I thought I would go onto this post and just hear that your nerves were getting the bettor of you, but you do seem to have had a bit of a nightmare! Of course your jacket is just too tight because of your 'girlie assets'

I have leather gaiters if you want to borrow them - they need a polish, but that's about it?

Hope you get the others sorted out! maybe Pavla could trim / plait for you?

Ahh! You'll get there in the end girl :)

I tried trawling my memory for Weber's arguement, but its just tooooo long since I covered it! If its any consolation, I once wrote a 3000 word essay in one day (and night) on some aspect of philosphy (the subject escapes my memory), entirely from the notes of one lecture (it was pre internet and actually pre word processing  ). I had no time to get any books, didn't attend the seminar and I got an A!!! No one could have been more amazed. I'm no geneous - I sweated blood and tears over some others in that term and got Bs. Not sure what that said about my brain:rolleyes: Anyway, the point is, concentrate on your show and you can get the essays together later and Weber's stuff is straightforward compared to some of the others.

Good luck :)

i have been at the stables since 2pm and left at 10pm:eek: Fiona(mum's friend) managed to help me cut off his feathers and tidy his mane and do a few plaits before she had to go home as her ribs were killing her.

i was left to do the rest which i promptly mucked up and begged and pleaded with another friend to finish it. at 9.45pm i returned a very bored and disgruntled horse to his bed.

i managed to lure a farrier to fit the shoe- i passed him on the M8 motor works and took down the number - he was heading my way anyways!

i somehow spent £150 in derby house on a new jacket and gaiters(thanks Lucy for the thought;) )as they had run out on there cheap stuff(great! )

Stella2 - thanks!thats helped alot, i want to go back in the afternoon and watch some sj so i think i will take a book with me to try and figure this weber guy out:D
