I'm still on the lookout for a jacket. Had one in mind, until I saw the DH keepers tweed that I almost bought two years ago, and now I'm not sure.

1 - The one I had in mind at first, but with a burgundy horizontal stripe with red vertical, worn with burgundy tie+waistcoat/cream shirt. Would cost either £170 or £200 depending on size, and would be made to measure. Probably taking a while, and people don't answer their phones very often, but have a fabby reputation. Should be a OOAK jacket as they don't stock that fabric and I've not seen it elsewhere, which appeals to me.

2 - Or there's this one, keepers tweed. Coming in at £132, unless I'm really unlucky and need the ladies. Unfortunately then I'm looking at £200, and it would have to be brown, when I'd prefer green. Don't think it would go with burgundy kit, so would get a gold waistcoat to go with my gold tie. Not sure if that would be too bland. However Derby House do answer their phones, and I would have it quicker.

3- Final option is this one. Coming in at £150, but it has a centre vent at the back and I wanted a double. However I do have the black version and love it, so whilst it's not the absolute perfect fit it's pretty darn close. Imagine I could have that one within the fortnight.

If I decide to go down the M2M route, I have a choice of three jackets to wear in the meantime, bearing in mind I'm planning WH rather than flat classes - black pure wool (lov-er-ly), blue-stupidly-short-in-the-arms-tweed, and green-won't-do-up-tweed, which I could possibly get away with if I wore a waistcoat underneath.

I just don't know which I want. :o

I like the third one best followed by the second one/ the dh jackets look lovely.

Should have added, the third is a Caldene.

Have found somewhere that does the Caldene in a Maids 34, as opposed to ladies (which isn't tight enough around the waist/back for my liking) at £100, so have ordered it to see how it fits and if it's as nice in person.

If I remember rightly, the DH one is quite mousy-browny-green, but it fit when I tried one on ages ago.

The more I think about it the less I like the first one, fashionable as overchecks may be. :o

the caldene looks very similar to my mums jacket

I have a caldene southwold and I love it, I have broad shoulders and a small waist, and every jacket I tried was massive around the waist on me, I ended up getting a 36 or 38 just to fit my shoulders, and the southwold was the only one that was tailored enough around the waist to fit me, maids are better for me, but they just dont seem to do them big enough around the shoulders for me.
id definatly go for the caldene, they are such nice quality.

I have neither wide shoulders nor a big waist, but I have sprouted cleavage and hips. Current jacket just does up on the chest, but it's really pulling so Mum can't let it out, and the flaps at the back are supposed to overlap around my bum and come nowhere near!

I have a Ladies Belvoir (same style etc as the tweed above but it's a black show jacket) and it's nice, just a tiny bit bigger across the waist and back than I'd like. At the time I could take a 32, but needed the length that came with the ladies 34, and now I'll need the chest on the 34. The maids should be more fitted around the waist though, so I'm hoping the sleeves are still long enough.

I just hope it doesn't look too bland on Daffy and me. There will be photos when I have it to make sure. ;)

For ponies I prefer the first one too. The third is very traditional and people seem to be going for more of an overcheck at the moment, especially in the pony classes.
