Is it okay to use black coated irons for showing? The springy ones - the cheapy ones as I can't afford Sprengers?

I will be when I have mine if I find them beneficial. I'm not sure I can put my stirrups down another hole and my knees are still hurting if I do too much trot/ride for too long.
As long as they aren't the blue ones (why blue?!) I don't see why not. Blend in with the boots well enough.

Okay, wicked :D
I've just managed to sell my current flexi stirrups as they are too big but as they are normal stirrup colour they don't look too out of place...
But, there's a pair of flexi-stirrups on ebay which I may get! :D They are the ones with the black coated springs.

Sprenger? I just got mine for £80 inc postage, cheaper than all the saddleries. Just got to wait for them to show up now.
I would probably put a "proper" pair of irons on if I was entering any T&T classes this year, but at the moment I'm having to ditch the stirrups to give my knees a break after 30-45minutes, no good for a full day of showing!
ETA, you want black treads though ;)

Nope, too broke to afford 4-way Sprengers, just 2-way cheaper version...with black treads ;)
We're only doing minimus jumping, family pony and PC pony classes :p
