I think I may of convinced my OH to have a go at in-hand showing this summer with Loki (in classes like m&m as I can't show both at once etc) but I'm not sure what he should wear (he's worried he is going to look a wally:rolleyes: as he isn't the tidiest person) I've told him he can wear black trousers, shoes and a shirt is this correct?

What colour are Loki's legs? He should wear dark trousers for light legs, and light for dark.

What breed is Loki? as Welsh turnout is completely different to the others!

Loki has 4 white socks and he is dapple grey. He is a welsh section A

Black trousers then, and a shirt (tucked in) and tie, and trainers. Welsh handlers do not wear hats (unless required to by the show) and generally the men don't wear jackets either. He could do with a tie pin for his tie (just to stop it flapping around too much) and needs to carry a cane.

Not a white shirt/plain tie, something with a nice large overcheck, maybe white and red, then with a patterned red tie. I think the current fashion is also for the men to roll their sleeves up when showing welshies inhand.

Would that be the same for a man showing a NF pony? Bay pony - so what colour trousers? Then tie & shirt - ideas on colours?

I'm not sure, Mehitabel should know. I do know that the welsh handlers have a bit of a more laid back attitude to their turnout than the other breeds, possibly because we're expected to run rather fast.

Whole-hog inhand turnout includes leather gloves, a tweed jacket, and tweed flat cap (possibly a bowler) for men AFAIK, but I don't know how far the NF peeps go with that.

Assuming the pony has dark legs, then pale (beige generally) trousers. I've always thought that if someone isn't wearing a jacket, the shirt looks best with a discreet pattern, a large overcheck generally.

Perhaps something like this (http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/P/B000OLXPDY.01-A2BO0OYVBKIQJM._SCLZZZZZZZ_SX280_SH35_V42843802_.jpg), but not quite as "busy". Then tie should pick up whatever additional colour is in the shirt.
