Chase me Charlie is a class with one jump that gets higher and higher, if you clear it, you go through to the next round, where the jump gets higher and so on. The winner is the competitor who jumps the highest without refusing/knocking down.

Equitation usually comes in two types, jumping and flat. In an equitation jumping you're judged on style going round a course of jumps, in a flat class it's judged on your riding and how well the horse goes (a bit like a dressage test, but in a showing format).
