for unregistered m&m classes should the pony be left looking natural or should they be plaited up. its for our local show

When you say un-registered, do you know if he/she's pure bred native?

I think it's natural for unregistered and plaited for part bred.

i'll leave him natural then, it'll also save me some time as it takes me ages because i cant do them very well :D

If you're showing natives, you leave them natural.

Yup part breds are plaited, (how annoying for me!) and full natives are natural.
