Oh my lordy, I didn't know this until today.... "Panacur Equine Guard may be mixed with your horse’s food or syringed directly into the horses mouth"

I only looked it up as someone suggested it as an option yesterday as I said I would far rather something to syringe than put in the food... and guess what... you can! (crikey, I must be naive, just blindly following the instructions on the packet... all these years.... )

He HATES the wormer in his feed :o .. he just sniffs at it... have tried absolutely ever-y-thing in there to disguise it over the years. I now take it out of the bucket as he tips it out anyway and put it on the concrete at the front of the stable so he can nibble during the night. I think he eats a lot of it over the whole pm, but I need to be sure as I really cannot guage due to his hatred of it.

Does anyone else syringe it in?

I've always just squirted wormer into a horses mouth.

I reach in a grab the tongue and then the horse cant close it's mouth and the wormer goes in easy. I then hold the head up and rub the throat til I feel a swallow. Never fails for me.

With all the others we squirt, as they are in syringes already, but panacur guard is a liquid 'to be put in feed' so that's what I did. Do you also syringe Panacur Guard? I thought it was to be put into feed (following instructions), but i suppose there's no real difference, it still gets into their gut.

At least syringing (if it's not detrimental) will make sure he gets his dose and he also enjoys his feed for 5 days

Cool, right, that's two of you who do, so looking forward to syringing next time. Means his feed isn't wasted, he gets his meds and it's all a lot quicker. He really can smell the wormer from 50 paces and nothing I add changes that..

Excellent! thanks to both of you (and thanks from CW!).
