Well after our disaster test at Richmond (when we discovered the errors on the Advanced 105 test sheet) Peri really redeemed herself yesterday. We had a rather tense time in the Medium because it was raining (she HATES being wet), but we still came out with over 60%. The Advanced Medium she did a reasonable test but with the combination of weird judging and rain only came out with 56% - I wasn't disappointed 'cos I knew what was coming when I saw who was judging so rather than waste energy I only worked her in for a short time and used it as a schooling exercise.
It certainly paid off because she came out in the Advanced 100 and really worked well, one minor hiccup when thick little me managed to go the wrong way!??!! and a rather more major one when she tripped in the middle of the tempi changes - really annoying as she usually gets 8 for those and we were relegated to a 4. Despite that she got 60.6% - her first advanced points (she's only gone over 60 in unaffiliated advanced classes previously) and we finished 5th out of a class of 11.
Claire also did really well with Octavia and finished 7th on 58% in only her second Elementary test (it was a really big entry so she did well) and was 5th in a big Novice Qualfier with 63%. That gives her two half qualifications for the Area Festival so she is really chuffed with herself and the horse.
To top it all off one of the organiser's mares had foaled the day before and had a beautiful filly foal, she is going to be black like her sire with a white blaze and white socks, really pretty face and her conformation looks good - how can you tell I'm in love with her already!
