I know products like ShowSheen can't be used on the saddle area because they can make the saddle slip due to the silicone. But are non-silicone based conditioners okay to use on the saddle area?

I've been feeding a small ammount of crushed linseed (flax) in my guys feed everyday, about 1/2 - 1 cup full. Everyone comments on how shiney my horses are, they took much less bathing (that before they were fed it) and the dust/dirt seems easier to get off with normall brushing :D no need to spray anything on them, though for the show I did put a little on Jess' rump thinking it would finish the job but I couldn't even tell where it had been put  don't have a slippage problem either - I am riding bare back mostly and its been fine :D

Yup, I would think a non-silicone spray would be just fine.
I actually just bought a non-silicone conditioning spray that is supposed to make the coat shine. It is called EQyss Avacado Mist and I have heard such amazing things about it. I, personally, have never been a huge fan of Show Sheen because of the huge amounts of silicone in it. It just can't be very good for their coat!
