I just got a new pony. Shes a 4 and a half year old Kaimanawa, and came off the ranges at about 8-10 months. shes never had her teeth done. i was wondering, should i get them done? shes isnt showing any signs of pain or anything. my old pony never had hers done and she was 9. my uncle said that i dont need to get them done unless she was showing signs of needing them done. what should i do???

Definitely get her teeth checked - don't wait until she shows signs of discomfort. My horse who is rising 5 is still having hers checked every 6 months.

I get Joy's checked when her jabs are due. Once a year for a check is a minumum timeframe and a quick look if we need the vet out in between times. I'm lucky because my vet is good with teeth so I'm happy to let her do anything that needs doing.
