Colour question!!!

If i put a cremello stallion on my grey mare (below) what are the colour chances for the foal, all her foals have greyed out up til now she i believe was a bay when born, her dad was black and her mum is down as brown/black?

Is there any colour i could put on her to try to move the colours away from grey?

Your mare would have had to have had one grey parent to be grey too, it is dominant characteristic and cannot hide or skip a generation. One of her parents must have greyed out.

Foal prediction colours:

75.00% - Grey
14.58% - Buckskin
8.33% - Palomino
2.08% - Smoky Black

I think mum must have greyed out, must check that with her breeder. Sounds silly i know but i love the foals she throws they are stunning, even the one i thought as a foal was an excuse is now a stunning three year old, i would just love to have a different colour from her, im so not a grey fan!!!!!! Thats dreadful i know, and ive got two other mares, one is white grey and the other greying out im going to have a yard full of grey foals!!! At least this mares foals stay quite dark for a while but il just have to get my bucket and sponge out alot!!!

Perhaps you might get lucky and get the 25% non-grey!

I have a grey PRE mare and I would love a non grey from her, but there is no test to tell me if she has one or two grey genes. If she has one copy of the grey gene I have the 75/25 thing going on, if she has two grey genes, then she will have 100% grey foals.

I really shouldnt complain she throws the most fantastic foals!!!!!
