show clothing shopping??? what matches

so after choosing a few diferent shirts we decided that this one was the nicest of the three.

my mare is a liver chestnut (can't show you a pic because right now she is a orange color) and gets dappled in the summer aswell. my colors according to my RI (judge in my discplines) says that my pants will be black either tighter dress pants or nice pair of black jeans, and i can wear either black, purple, chocolate brown, forest green maybe (mostly for the horse) and i think she may try me in blue. So we are just starting in the open shows and i have found 3 saddle blankets that i like and i want your opinion on them about which one would look nicer in contrast.
My mom and i were thinking the plain pink ones so it doesn't look to busy but the purple one is just drop dead georgeous. also i should tell you that my discplines are western pleasure, showmanship,western equitation and trail classes. I have a black leather vest with black velvet roses on it for my trail classes already. and heres the blankets

would be my answer. Solid pads are the way to go and the "hot" thing right now. There is actually an article in this months Horse and Rider and chosing a solid pad to aid the overall look.

I think the purple would be nicer on a liver chestnut personally.

yeah we have her in all purple right now but my mom (the fashion groupie) thought that if i put a purple blanket on her it would be too much? but i agree now that i relook things over purple would look quite nice overall.

i think the purple would be nice, but i prefer the one that Shadowlark posted the link too, the other one seems to OTT for me, but then again i do dressage n showing, not western so i duno if that may be what would be best for that as i dont really know much about western, but yeh the purple would be nice, and also green and gold is nice on a chestnut too

Yeah you want the plain purple. The glitter purple is really for barrels, and the butterfly desgin belongs under a round skirted saddle. Also a non "wool" pad isn't appropriate for the WP ring.

I would also wear a plain purple saddle cloth - it'd look classier than a contrast, and if the shows are anything like those in the UK, it won't detract from the horse by giving the judge too much to look at.
