static sweet itch rug - my friends electric ...

poor old angel had to endure multiple mini-zaps last night when i took her boett off :o it wasnt quite so static last year, i swear!

any quick fixes for that (cant take it home and wash it with fabric conditioner as i dont have a spare!)? spray with water before taking it off? wearing rubber gloves?! i'd rather my pony didnt get zapped!

I have the same problem. I haven't actually had a shock yet but you can hear the static when I take the rug off. I just do it very slowly :o

i tie my horses to a metal gate (via an elastic thing that will break) so i try and pul part of the rug towards the gate and get it to discharge on the gate as i take it off.

forgot to mention that before and its quite tricky to organise it so that it does discharge and rarely works :(
