Can anyone tell me whether the above is lower in protein than the ordinary stuff. My boy was on haylage over winter due to an allergy & even though it was introduced slowly it still gave him the runs. Does anyone know if the laminatic sort is less rich or would feeding pink powder help in these circumstances?

Haylage is always higher in sugar than hay. Advice Nicola at TopSpec gave us was to soak it for at least an hour, preferably longer, before feeding.

Sounds like a good idea - I can understand the reasoning - but is it ok to soak haylage?

Yes, as long as you feed it within 24 hours.
