Hi Peeps.

There is a pony at Kia farm called pepper she is 3 years old and we think a welshA/B. At the moment the vet is horrified at the fatness of her. She looks like she has a foal on either side of her and she is only 11.2/12hh!!!

I dodnt take any pics (should've!!) so you cant tell. The vet has told us to start some groundwrok with her ie longreining, lunging etc you usual to get the weigh off her. they are both out 24/7 she is getting no hard feed now at all. she was getting a handful of pony cuvbes when Kia was getting his dinner but that has stopped.
I believe that this wont hurt her in anyway as she is well made and I'll get piccies the next time as the vet recoomended about half an hour a day of walk and a little trot near the end and build it up.

The question is......... she has a bridle which she has had in as she can be a little madam and hard to handle or lead to thwe field on occasion so we bridle her when she is in this mood. this is her bit which was recommended as better for her

Would this be suitable for longreining and lunging?? Or shoud I buy her a little eggbutt snaffle??? she has a really tiny mouth tho!!!

No debating on age please, no outrage either please as this is for the pony's health. She cannot be kept in as she panics if he isnt there and breaks down the doors so we cannot have her hurting herself. I will not have her suffering from laminitus for the sake of a little ground work.

Thanks for the advice peeps!!!

i think thats an in-hand bit so you might want someting different to do work with.

I was thinking that when the woman showed me it but was told it ould be ideal!!

Do you think that a snaffle would be ok???

IN hand bits are okay to do any ground work in. just don't ride in them.
