Lovaly Ride Today, and first Ear Shot!

Yay, got my first ear shot on Sennie.:D (apologies for title typo. I can't edit it)

My friend and her beautiful french cob Sophie, Sennie and me, and friend's small and seriously cute Section A, Lollipop, with her young rider, went for a ride this morning to Thorndon Park Country Park in Brentwood.

We took two trailers and drove the half hour to the country park, and had a lovely two hours mooching about the beautiful open scenery. Lollipop's rider's grandad came with us and took the photos. He jogged most of the five miles. :eek: Well done him.

We never go particularly fast, but always have a good time. Normally Sennie brings Sophie out in season, but happily she'd just had one this week. so all was well.

Sennie was very excited at the start as usual, but calmed down after about 15 minutes.. as usual. All three horses were fantastic. We encountered: cows in the field we were in, a raft of about 40 joggers on a fun run, who let out a collective "aaah" when they saw little Lollipop:p . people on bikes, dogs, scary fallen logs:rolleyes: fairies (well I couldn't see anything but clearly the horses could;) ). We managed five miles. It was great.

Highly recommended for a quiet easy going ride.:D

Ahhh for Lolloipop is about right - such cuteness shouldn't be allowed! Sounds like a lovely ride - I can't wait for my first ear shot! :)

Finally the penny dropped! I was lost with the lingo of ear shots. Thought at 37 I was left in a total different era but having viewed the great pics it all became clear.:rolleyes: . What I'd like to know is how you post the pics without using the attachment as they are lovely big pics.:) :)

Chickflick and Nic, thanks for lovely comments on Sennie. He's looking pretty moth eaten at the moment as he's at that grotty stage when about half his coat's out. Inhale and you inhale a cushion full of brown fur. I think you posted the same on Captain, Nic.

Yes, Lollipop is positively edible. He's quite a strong little lad though, and dominant. He'd have loved to be in front, but Sennie was having none of it.;) His rider does really well with him.

chestnut-mare, I have no idea how people do the ear shots and manage to stay on. I must confess to grabbing the camera quickly, taking the shot and handing it back! What I'd like to know is how you post the pics without using the attachment as they are lovely big picsI put the pics into Photobucket, the copy the image URL and paste into the post. It seems to work.:)

Looks like you had a lovely time, all the horses look fantastic, so well & happy. Lollipop's rider is sitting even wonkier than me in the first pic! I guess it's round pony syndrome - unfortunately I don't have that excuse...!

Iron Maiden, I noticed that too, but she looks pretty straight in the other photo so I've assumed it's the way he was standing. Thanks for your nice comments on the horses. They certainly enjoyed themselves.:)

That looks a lovely place to ride. How nice to load up the horses and get out and about -- definitely something to aim for (though I've only just got the hang of driving a car again after many years of not driving, so maybe not just yet!)

Lollipop's so cute -- always good to have a shorty in the ride in case someone has to get off ;)
