Just been looking at photos of Kate/Bally at a sponsored ride the weekend before last and thought i'd share them with you - was dead scary cos she disappeared off with 2 other 12 year old girls, not be seen again for 2 and a half hours. Anyway, as you can see, they seemed to enjoy it!!

Hi Rosie
These are lovely pics of Kate and Bally, they look fantastic, and what great jumping. Is she going to do the affiliated jumping this year.
How big is Bally? He looks really gorgeous, and Kate rides so well, lovely jumping....
(very small voice: thinking of getting back to jumping one day perhaps...)
I just love riding with daughter, keeps us from arguing....

That's brilliant x-jenni-x, how do you de-copyright?? I have enough trouble downloading them!!
Yes i agree anne, can't wait to ride out with Kate again, am really missing it, though am not missing jumping AT ALL!!! Was never really brave enough and when i did try small courses at local shows i always get lost  - i'm really impressed by how the kids remember these complicated courses! Think i'll stick to jumping the odd log while out hacking!!
Yes, Kate would really like to affiliate Bally (Ballyellen Bella, but didn't like Bella!!)- its just that the junior bsja shows are all over an hour away and it seems to be a whole new level of committment.
On the other hand, perhaps i should help her realise her dreams?
- She bought Bally herself last summer with money left to her by her granddad. She'd just come over from Ireland, and had literally only hunted for two seasons (she's 7 this year), hence she was at a price she could afford!! It was a risk, and she has had a few 'issues' but buying one of these ready made pony club ponies was just not possible. She's a pure bred connemara, though the vet says she hasn't much 'bone' (think that means she's a bit lightweight for her breed) and just measures 14.2 with her shoes on!!
iloveshearer, we're from north bucks - near aylesbury - the s ride was at waddesdon xxxxx

I just love riding out with my daughter, have a great day, fresh air, lovely animals and then talk about it for days on end afterwards. A really special sharing.
Well done to Kate for both buying him herself and bringing the pony on. What a lovely memory of granddad.
