Henry Wynmalen

Has anyone heard of the rider Henry Wynmalen?

I have recently got hold of one of his books, written in the 1940's, and some of it is very good, but some of the pictures were not at all showing good riding techniques.

Has anyone else read his books?

Was he a well respected rider?

i've got his equitation book on loan from a friend - it is good. can't comment on whether he was a well respected rider or not though!

He was well respected in his time, but as you noticed with modern knowledge of how horses move and the effect of the rider on that, a lot of the ideas are out of date.

Equitation is the book I am reading too!

You can certainly see how times have changed. The pictures of people jumping looked painful!!!
