I have come to the decision to loan cassie out :( I really cant afford her anymore and dont have the right grazing/facilities to keep her well:( She is prone to laminitis and seems to get it just by looking at a blade of grass. Such a hard decision but i think its for the best:)

Its horrible news that you have to make this decision based on facilities and finance
Its not a bad thing to loan though
Is it?
I mean it doesn't have to be forever and surely you can still see her?
If not look at sharing instead...?

no not at all i think it would probly be the best solution for her or if a excellent hoem came along were she would be loved and cared for proply i would probly even consider selling her. I just feel a bit upset and as if ive let her down as ive had her since she was 3 and will miss her lots...also i think it might be difficult to find someone suitable for her as she is very green, strong and can get very excitable soo is really an confident adult/teenager ride

I've had to get a sharer for B. I hate that someone else rides and looks after him three days a week. But it helps with the finance and frees up time, especially now I've finished college and will have to get a proper job!
But I'm looking at it as a temporary thing. That in a year I'll be in a position to have him all to myself again.
If I were you, and I thought that I'd be in a position to have her again in a few years, then I'd not concider selling. Even to the nicest of homes. I'd always want to know that I had the option of having her back.
Obviously its your decision and if the best thing for you is to sell if you find the perfect family for her, then all the best.
It is hard tho, and knowing that you have her best intrests at heart doesnt really make it any easier, does it.
(((((hugs))))) to you.

Spooky, I have a 13.1hh roan mare called Cassie too!
All the best though, sounds like it will work out well :) I know what it's like managing these good do-er native types, so difficult!
