Phew it is over, Loki went to his first show today, and it was my dreaded discipline Dressage
Loki was such a good boy, he accepted being plaitted without any fuss and then it was time to tack up and get out there! We came out of the yard and he grew about two hands at the sight of his patch being invaded by loads of horseboxes (in his field no less ;) ) and strange horses charging around. There was a moment where he went a bit sideways and strong but that was it!
By the time we had ridden around the warm up field once he had pretty much calmed down. Because of the wet weather they had only opened one field as a practise area so it was a bit crowed and the field is on a hill so everyone crammed at top bit which was flat, I wanted to stay away from the crowd so I only warmed up in walk, with a couple of little trotting moments up hill.
He went into the ring, didn't worry about the dressage markers, had one look at the car and then wasn't bothered.
The test itself wasn't great, he jumped a puddle going up the centre line :D . Pretty much all the way through he was trying to nosy at all the going on outside the ring, I think it is fair to say I didn't have his attention.
Anyway enough of the blurb here are some photos, there was a professional photographer who took quite a lot of pics apparantly they will be on his website tomorrow, can't wait!
