Not neccessarily. Spotted patterns (like blankets with spots) can change over a horse's lifetime; spots can change size and location and such, and varnish roans will gradually get lighter and lighter as they age, but not all Appaloosa patterns alter.

He may get more frosting or lose some of it but there's no guarantee.

yes he could change. My varnish roan used to be very dark in colour with a very prominant blaze and 4 whites, but now she's in her 20's and most people mistake her for a grey as she now has they typical patch on her withers, darker tail and legs. You can now only see her blaze when she's wet due to mottles skin or very, very clean and you can just make it out.

It is a little known fact , but there is actualy no permanent gene in ponies for a blanket ..it is there in the appaloosa but not yet been achieved in the pony.
Therefore it is very safe to assume that your pony will in time create more LP roaning each year.
Sit back and enjoy the ride.
Spots are fascinating!!
