'Your not going out looking like that are you?'
exclaimed OH when he walked into the living room with his designer trainers, jeans and t-shirt that he has recently slimmed down into.
We were heading off to the Royal Windsor Horse Show despite the appauling weather forecast.
I was dressed in my Joules waterproof riding trousers, Tyne Muck Boots and the North Face paclite jacket - yes I was in designer mode too only I was going to remain dry!
When we arrived in the car park at 1030hrs the view from our car was like this............

Fortunately, I persuade darling OH to bring his Muck Boots and he gladly donned them when he saw the other punters in their designer wet and muddy gear with labels such as Barbour, Drizabone and Hunter.
Oh boy it was wet but we made the most of it.
First horsey spectacle was a bit of showjumping.

Big rounds of soggy applause to the horse and riders for looking so smart and performing so well despite the weather.

The Pure bred and part bred Andaluscians were a must on my list and they didn't disappoint. A stunning display was put on for us.
I quite fancied this boy - he reminded me of Cooper :o well ok the mane did.

He came 4th.
We were then hugely entertained by an amazing characature of the showing set - she should have been on Little Britain ( a British comedy for you overseas peeps) or Catherine Tate.
A Showing Masterclass I guess you could call it - very informative, very 'British', very horsey and just brilliant.
'Come on girl get those hands down', 'Look up, look up girl' - I guess you had to be there - but remember I am a foreigner and love this sort of thing.
While listening to her we popped in and out of a few shops and bought Cooper a new lightweight turnout rug and a sheepskin polishing mit for when we show him - now that I am overflowing with hints and tips of the showing fraternity!
I was never quite comfortable with Cooper and his Raspberry turnout rug - 'it isn't pink, it is RASPBERRY' (tut)
May was in dire need of one so I opted for a Cooper blue newbie and donated May the pink, I mean raspberry one. The 6ft 6 is a bit tight on May's cobby shoulders so believe it or not she wears the same size of rugs as Coops.
Retail fix over we were then entertained by the pure and part bred Lusitanos.

Just lovely.

Three hours in the rain had passed at this stage and we were beginning to feel a bit cold so we opted to pay £3.00 to get out of the wet and sit in this thing for 4 mins...........

Thank goodness we didn't eat before hand - it was quite amusing.
As we exited the helicopter simulator there was a flash of lightening and a roll of thunder. At this stage we decided to call it a day (1400hrs) - the ground was looking a bit like this http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f270/Whatanejit/windsor8.png
and OH's Levis were a bit like this....

Still, we were really glad to have gone and would definately make an annual event of it - t'would have been sooo much better on a dry day - better luck next year eh?
