Yes they do look a bit long. Shortening them a little may help with your balance, but what you really need to do is work without stirrups etc so you get the balance from your seat. Once you've got a balanced seat the rest will come a lot easier!

How big is your saddle?? To be honest it doesnt look as if it fits you. Your whole position has been thrown to the back of the saddle making your legs surge forwards. You stirrups dont look too long just the way your posistion is the saddle is probably making you feel that way.....

It could just be your position that is throwing your bum to the back of the saddle but I personally would get a fitter out to make sure....

I dont think it fits the horse either because in that picture your horse is hollowing its back....Head up, bum up and back dipped down.....This will not help with yours or the horses balance. Have a look into getting the saddle fitted and see how you feel then with a better fitted saddle for you and horsey.....:D

Sadly I dont think that Poohsmate will come all the way to NSW to check horsey saddle and back....:p

He is a fantastic saddle fitter and has really made a lot of difference to the way my horse and I ride together since having a perfectly fitted saddle...:D
