Flymask on At Night???????

Hey,
I was just wondering if you can leave the flymask on at night. I just got a new flymask, and on the box it said not to. My horse is kept in a small paddock, and there is no way I could be at the barn every morning and night to take it off/put it on. There is someone who could do it, but they are not very dependable and charge $ for it. Does it harm them that much to keep it on at night, or would no flymask at all be better?

Kia has his on 24/7 when he's out. I dont take it off unless I'm riding. He even has it on in the rain!!!

mine have theirs on 24 hrs - no problems so far!!

yeah i know it say so, but i can't do it either, so mine have always had them on overnight, occasionally i give them an overnight break if i am up the next morning, but thats just to give them a break from looking through holes! lol

Darcy had his on 24/7 last year and will do this year. Dont think it does them any harm.

one thing i would say is make sure some one can just check it am and pm as my mare scratched her head with her rear leg and got the hat caughts between her shoe and her hoof, she galloped round the field madly until someone caught her and had to use a knife to cut it off.

its a freak thing but just so your aware, maybe ask your yo to keep an eye out. mine still have to have their hats on 24 due to sweetitch anyway!

I leave mine on 24/7, the bugs are at there worst at dawn and dusk, and I can't be at the yard at 5am and again at 11pm :rolleyes: I've never had any problem with them, Bo doesn't like his much so I leave it on all the time and just check under it for rubs etc, I even just put my bridle on over the top of it.
