We have noticed when picking the rear hoofs of our 12hh Pony, that when asked to lift, they spring up that quickly, with a sort of mechanic movement. Then, when you walk him, particularly in the morning, although all of the time not to the same severity, his hind feet are as if he has glue on the bottom, making it difficult to pick them up, but then you get this very quick sharp movement pulling from the top of the leg by the elbow. He does not appear to be in any pain, but it looks very strange when he walks, the children think he pretends to be a robot. Any tips what this could be?

Hi Karen,
Have you ever considered having a qualified 'back person' to see to your pony.
What you are describing seems there is a small amount of impingement of the mechanics from the hip.
My 12.2 had something very similar a couple of weeks back.
At first I thought it could be the gradual onset of arthritis , seeing she is nearly 20 years old, but I had this niggling at the back of my mind so I contacted a good friend of mine who is a McTimoney
Chirpractic, she popped down to see my pony , one treatment later and shes back to normal.
This maybe the same as your pony I dont know.
Hope you get it sorted what ever it turns out to be !
