my pony has either got low grade lminitis or brusied soles, we are not sure at the moment. shes not lame just slightly footy over stoney ground.

i am keeping her stabled and she is being gently exercised daily.

ive noticed some days i get her out of the stable and all 4 of her feet are quite warm and other days they are stone cold?

she did just about have a digital pulse in one front leg but this has now gone:D

why are her feet changing hot/cold and is it something to worry about?

Heat is a pretty rubbish indicator for things being wrong, you are far better sticking with digital pulses. Heat does not necessarily mean anything is wrong and if all four feet feel exactly the same I'd say it's nothing to worry about. Do you go and see her at different times of the day? Just now I am finding my mare's feet are stone cold in the morning and warm up in the afternoon. I guess it's just because she is warmer overall in the afternoon:)

Yeah, heat in the hooves isn't an indicator for laminitis as lots of people think it's if there is a pulse in the feet and the crest goes hard means laminitis. I wouldn't be too worried as the pulse has gone.
