Now that I'm on a different lesson horse, I believe I'm progressing so much better that I'm sort of pumped, right now. Plus, my half-lease on this horse starts next week, so I'll be riding on my own twice-a-week, in addition to my weekly lesson.

One thing I've just realized is that in the last month or so I've stopped hearing "heels down", "sit back", "breathe!", "relax your shoulders", "smile", etc. Lessons are a lot quieter, now! :D

And here's something "weird". I thought I caught on to rising trot quickly and consider it one of my strengths, but with the new horse, I've noticed that I do what I mentally call "sproing, sproing" trotting. With him, I feel we we are bouncing on a spring and it feels really good -- really "in sync". Is this what it's supposed to feel like? I can't help believe it must be -- don't tell me it's wrong!

Sounds like you are having a really good time and a good lesson horse makes all the difference. Don't slack off now... I am sure there is still something to improve on ;) (isn't there always?!)
Also don't forget to pay attention to how you come down (lightly and controlled) after the motion of the trot pings you out of the saddle. :)

Rising trot on my two are so different. Beamer with a lot of quarter horse has a very smooth trot. Indy has a very big trot. I feel like she "flings" me out of the saddle where Beamer's trot just sort of makes a "suggestion". I think it's just the difference in the horse's builds and the size of their trots. It would be hard to tell from the video's I just posted, because he's acting so wild and Indy is going so slow, but just the difference in size and conformation makes a big difference. I like a bit of a bigger trot. I just have to make sure I remember to adjust.
