Hi, lately Willow has been tripping alot whilst out on hacks. I wondered if this is a sign of her hooves being unbalanced? I'm getting the farrier A.S.A.P but i wondered if this is why she is tripping now when she used to never do it.

Thanks, I want to solve the problem before she trips and really hurts herself.

Vez xx :)

It can be, most often if the toe gets too long I think. Have you got any pictures? :)

No sorry :o , but it looks as if the front of the hoof has been worn away to much more than the toe being to long. Could this cause Willow to trip?

OK :) Looking at it from the other end then what are his heels like? If they've got too long it might also cause problems, think humans in high heels. What does the frog look like heightwise in relation to them? It should be almost but not quite in contact with the ground ideally with the horse stood on a hard level surface.

A worn toe on its own isn't necessarily a bad thing :)
