Sorry this is not very clear (Mum forgot the zoom function  ) at all but this was such a fun moment. Hard to tell but does it look like I am leaning back too much? I know I wasn't holding anything which when I do makes me feel like I am leaning.Don't yu just love Dads jockey arms?!

From the picture it's hard to tell but you seem to look fine. Must be fun to have a parent to ride with. My dad has no interest and mum is terrified. lol

Hey Kiwigirl sounds like your canter is coming along great as well! :p You look fab and your position looks spot on to me...I hope I look that good! :D

Hi Kiwigirl...from what I can tell from that far away...your upper body may need to come forward a bit (like you said), and it looks like your lower leg should come back a bit...it's really too far away to tell for sure though!

OMG your dad is so funny!!!

Dad used to ride horses mustering cattle/sheep about 20 years ago - he has no fear! So jealous he was off cantering about 15min into our lesson!

Thanks pony-girl Ash, I think I am leaning back too far also, so I will ask my RI tommorrow if I am too much.

Leg back - oh yes a constant problem of mine! I do want to work on that more. So again am going to get the Ri to say when it is right and when it isn't. I know when it is because my hip flexors start to ache! I'm wondering does strirrup length affect getting your leg back and is it possible if your focused on heel down that it creeps forward? I know at canter my RI is always sayin "toes up" "heel down"

Thanks for your comments. I might get braver in the future and post some clearer photos for crtiteque. Good thing about these ones I din't know when they were being taken. Some of the ones of me trotting are aweful leg wise:o Funny how a photo can make you feel worse.

I always find it's easier to keep my leg back when I drop my stirrup a whole or even go without stirrups, but it really depends on your level and leg strength...sometimes that just worsens the problem because you get so tired that you no longer can hold your leg in place at all and it just flops around!! (I say this from experience by the way...:D )
