Had a fantastic jumping lesson today and we jumped 3'3 for the first time:D I was totally cacking it of course but once I had jumped the first one and realised that its actually not much different to 2'9, we are just in the air for a little longer. Had a few wobbly moments, as you do, but didnt fall off and felt very chuffed with myself:cool:

My RI then said that I should consider the Open class at this weeks Wednesday night competition and I, shockingly, am actually giving it serious thought. She said to wait until I had done the Intermediate class and see how I felt when I see the Open jumps, however I do have a gallon or so of Rescue Remedy in Sam's box so there is a possibility that I may actually do it

Wish me luck :D

Well I bottled out in the end - I stood beside the 3'3 jump before the open and my butterflies went into overtime when the jump went up past my hips:eek:

BUT....we did get 2 fantastic rounds tonight:D Got placed 4th in the Novice (1'6 - 2') and then got placed 3rd in the Intermediate class (2'6 - 2'9), we were in first place till the last two went round the jump off like whippets. So I am chuffed to bits as these are our first rosettes of the year. Sam went really nicely AND I jumped him in his snaffle(we had control issues in the snaffle last year). I can't begin tell you how proud I am of him and he got a huge bag of carrots in his tea tonight:D Sadly no piccies as I mislaid my camera and didnt find it till I was finished :(

So, hoping for at least a second next week:)

I dont blame you either. You need to practise more before you really go for it.;) I would of bottled the 2ft6 -2ft9......:o

3'3 is pretty big as a course, i cant blame you. 2'6 - 2'9 is a nice size though!

I completely agree. I had only jumped 3'3 for the first time yesterday morning and while it was nice that my RI has so much confidence in me I just dont think I could have managed a whole course at that height, especially seeing as our outdoor jumping arena slopes downhill slightly which makes a downhill 3'3 a hell of a lot scarier.

Well done on the results and I am sure you will do that Open before long but no point doing it till you are ready.

Well done Morganna, no hurry for the bigger jumps, they will still be there next time when you are ready :) 3ft 3 thats as big as my son !!!

Never jump anything on a horse that you wouldnt jump yourself ;) thats my motto :p
