Latest driving lesson. I have trouble with my contact and keeping impulsion so consquently, the horse is all over the place and I over-correct in my cues. So my RI had me bridge the reins and hold them with one hand. This really helped with the steering as I could make very small cues and still keep the reins pretty even. If I needed to make a bigger cue, I used the other hand on the rein. Sigh, this is actually very hard for me. It seemed easy in the first lesson and I did everything right but now I get confused or something, I don't know what. Anyway, I still love doing it!!

sometimes it seems you will never get the hang of the driving reins :D ... and hold a whip :D ... and give all the cues for everything you do without recourse to legs !!! not as easy as it looks this driving lark is it ;)
well its ok driving down a straight road in relaxed mode ....... but anything else really needs work on the ocoordination doesn;t it.
dont worry , it will go in fits and starts and you get better slowly :)
Is your driving instructor teaching you coachman right from the start or are you using the reins as you would riding ???? .... or when you say she making you bridge the reins are you changing that from coachmans ??
Its def best to be able use one hand for short periods so you can signal on the road etc .....
Remenber back to starting to ride or drive a car ( if you do ) bet you felt the same at the beginning then too . now prob dont think much on it !
