Not quite as good as Haphazard jumping concorde, but we thought it was fun:

It was our first Intro of the year, the xc was big & we finished on our dressage score, so I was delighted with that. Flynn was faboulous xc, he was bold, jumped like a stag & made the big scary jumps seem easy. We may get placed but our dressage score was not very good, Flynn decided that any movement of my legs whatsoever meant 'GO!!' so it was a bit frenetic. I couldn't get him to walk & that made me giggle! I'd rather finish on dressage score & come nowhere than do well in dressage & mess up the jumping though. I guess with that attitude it's not surpising that I'm fairly rubbish at it! We've entered a pre-novice in 4 weeks which is getting to quite scary bigness so onwards and upwards....
ETA: I'm pleased about this face concealment rule now, you can't see my 'I need the bog' expression...

Hiya Ditz! It was at Draycott, which is just near M1 J25 outside Derby - a nice easy run for us. The pre-novice we've entered is our next xc, that's on the 24th at Marchington, which is on the Derbyshire/Staffs border over near Uttoxeter. We did the Intro there last year & the PN looked do-able, not easy but less difficult than some I've seen. Here's hoping we nail it like we did today!

OK so I admit it, I'm not under 18, but I'm following the recommendation - especially when the pic makes me look like a constipated bag of gravel!

Oh no spoke too soon. We got to the roots of a couple but only a couple were up to height so we got away with. Need to do better next time for sure.

No not been to Hackthorn Hall, I'll have to look it up. When's the xc going on there? I'm still on the lookout for small xcs to take Mrs P along to so might take a look.

great pics H they certainly went to town with the XC jumps there brill!!! there looks to be quite a difference in height between the SJ and XC was that the case, the XC looks a lot bigger:D

Every xc jump was like a little work of art! There was a carpenters table in the PN that was covered in tools & had a giant circular saw blade embedded in it, honestly I thought it was real but on close inspection it was made of wood - just as well but it got me going! Yep the sj was quite small for an intro but just as well! I'm expecting the sj at Marchington to be full up 3 ft 6 so better get my **** together by then  Xc was definitely up to height though. Maybe even slightly stretchy tape measure syndrome!

Awesome pics and well done IM. Looks a fantastic course and to be honest i would prefer the concorde to the artic lorry. These photographers certainly know how to capture the moment to make you part with the cash don't they?

well done :D that picture is great!
that trailer with the hay on looks scarey to me  never mind a horse, how are you supposed to desensitize horses to things like jumping artics? its not fair, its not as if you can do some of that stuff at home is it :D

Its a Senior ODE ran by Burton Hunt PC on 1st July - height starts at .90 I think?

Fab pics...you and your horse are incredibly brave to be jumping those sorts of things  I definatley think you should get the cross country picture that you liked.
Although I do have to ask one question...if your horse can jump a house AND an artic truck...how big is your horse?!?! :p ;) :D
