I would appreciate any help on these questions I have.

What is the maximum number of times a stabled horse can be fed?

What is liniment used for?

What is Cough Electuary used for?

Why is it important never to ride a horse after a full meal?

How much water should you give a horse after a hard workout and at what temperature?

What are two health problems or diseases that can occur if a horse's stall is not cleaned at least once a day?

1~ As many times a s possible. It could be three or 10, but usually people feed 3 times per day.

2~Liniment is used for tendons and ligaments in the legs (usually). It's like "Rub A-5-3-5™" for human athletes.

3~ To reduce coughing, and to get it out of their system.

4~ Do you know the saying: "Wait one full hour before you go swimming after you eat"? Well, it takes the blood needed to digest the feed, out of their stomachs. People throw up after, but horses can't. So they get colic instead, and they can die from it.

5~ As much water as they want AFTER they are cooled off. If you give water right away, then you can cause colic again.

6~They can get THRUSH, from soiled bedding, and they come down with colds much more easy than if they have clean air to breathe. They have a lower reistance than when they are out doors or in a clean stall.

Hello!

WRT the number of times to feed a horse, horses are designed to eat for 18hrs a day - that is to eat forage (grass) for most of the day. It is unnatural for a horse to eat concentrated food so it is very benificial to break down the total feed that a horse needs in the form of concentrates into lots of small feeds. basically the more small feeds the horse has, the better!
