i have just moved from hampshire to scotland and as such have had to change from my trusty farrier who has rescued my mare's feet twice now after 2 different farriers suddenly changed how they were shoeing her feet causing her to have a pulse in her legs and go lame with terrible cracks.

now my previous farrier shod with NB shoes which are shown here:
http://www.tfp.uk.com/Centre%20fit.htm

the new farrier uses shoes which are narrower (more like a rim shoe) and have side clips. the shoe size is the same and it is still applied '4 point' however i am worried as i know what my mares feet are like. they are ok and she is sound, but after a week i am convinced one of her cracks has widened and her feet seem long already. am i paranoid? she is going very well and is sound, but last time her feet got messed around it was 4-6 months before the damage was apparent.

i will try and upload some picutres.
can anyone shed some light on NB shoes using shoes which are not NB shoes? I am hoping it is the same principles but perhaps a cheaper version?

new farrier advised that the toe clips should help with the cracking and it will help to keep the shoes on. does this make send?

Our farrier has shod daughters TB with his own shoes he made for her on natural balance principles which had an immediate transformation in her movement by correcting the breakover point. She is a typical long toed low heeled TB and after four months we can see the improvement in her feet as well.
