First thing I want to tell you is the vet did check Robin and gave her a shot to help the heats. It stop her heat. So Robin went one week of heat and one week in. Usely Robin has 3 weeks in and one week off. Then I gave the same shot in two weeks. Again it stoped her heat. Robin had a baby that was put down. I got her she was starving to death. Robin is heathy now.
So what's the longes heats do your horse have? One sign she is in heat is she starts to hug you. Robin is harder to ride and cranky sometimes. I am tring to get her back in heat once a month. But the way Robin is always in heat is driving me crazy.
Do you know anything to put her heats back in check? Or help her not to be so cranky. If I can't control her heats then I will have no choice but to sell Robin. Robin needs someone with more experience. So I am tring to do everthing to keep her.

I don't no because she started in the spring and still going in the Summer. I only had her for about ten months. It would be fine if it was once a month but it's crazy heats.

But the good news is Robin is starting to walk faster and now is staying with pace with the horse in front. If the other horse in front to head she wants to catch up. Robin is becoming to be a very fun horse to ride. I am so happy that she is felling better.

Hi Kate :) Good to hear from you again! How's the rest of your "gang"?
I can't help with your question, sorry (can hardly tell when Ria's in heat!) but hopefully other people will have some ideas :)

ask your vet about putting her on regumate to stop her coming into season works great , if you get the porcine one it is cheaper than the eqine one and works the same my vet it cost around 40 but lasts a good while good luck with her

I just wanted to update you that Robin is past her due date to start her heat, Robin was to start on June 4 2007 and so she is two days over. I hope she stays out of heat. So far so good.

I rode Robin in the open field and was very good. I will update you soon.
