Okay, this is a bit sad, but.. I love my whip.. :o

It is the exact right lenght and weight to suit me well, I don't notice it when I am holding it, it fits me so well. I don't really need to use it a lot as I just keep it there just in case and that is more than enough for some of the horses I ride.

But I was doing couple of really rough chukkas few weeks back and I lost the tip!

I walked around the arena where we were playing several times but I wasn't able to find it, and it has now been rolled several times so I am thinking I am not going to be able to find it.

So now I am stuck with a tipless whip, and since it doesn't have the wrist band it is slipping in my hand and I am constantly having to keep an eye out to make sure I don't drop it. I don't want to buy a new whip as I have grown attached to this one (:o) so was wondering if it is possible to buy a new tip for it? And if so, where would I get one? Or should I just give up and buy a new whip..? :(

Thanks!

Lol, it might have to come to that! :p But I'd like to see if I can buy an actual tip first, don't want my dear whip to be subjected to being a second rate whip if I can avoid it! :p

Yes, my whip has a personality.. :o

Try somewhere like B&Q for a universal stopper type thing.

Vicki

p.s. please dont ever use the wrist strap on a whip while you're riding anyway, means your stuck wiht it when you fall and can very easily injury yourself or horse! :D

So I should really be worried about the long, heavy wooden Polo mallet that is strapped to my wrist with a wrist strap..? ;) :p

Yeah, I know what you mean, not trying to take the mick, but I think the whip wrist strap in my case is the least of my worries.. ;) I do hate them though, and never use them! But can't really avoid it with the mallet!

I might have a nosey in B&Q, and might go see the local tack shop to see if they have anything, or whether it would be cheaper to buy a new one.. Or just use Kate's duct tape patent thingy.. :p

Thanks for your suggestions! :)

yeah, ok so that was one of my more blond moments, but the love and intention was there and you never know who else might read it (well thats my excuse anywa and I'm sticking to it :p)

Heheh, I know! :) I have actually been worried about the mallet being strapped to my hand, although it is not actually put through the loop, but it could still cause serious problems when performing a non-planned dismount!

But then I started thinking all the other stuff that can happen whilst playing Polo and decided that it is better not to think about these things beforehand, otherwise I would not be playing at all! :p

If you can't find anything, could you not just buy another whip, pull the tip off that and glue it on your current whip? :p . Probably would be the easist thing to do!

Or a martingale stop? Just trim the ends down a bit perhaps.

Or a ball of bluetack. :D

ETA, or a wooden/plastic bead
