I'm thinking about getting myself a Dually halter for when I start walking out Martini (one look at her beloved grass and I'll get dragged to it!). I have a 'be nice' halter but don't really like the studs across the poll area. However, the sizes for the dually are a bit confusing.

"Sizes come up quite large but there are plenty of holes so there is good adjustability. The smallest a small would fit is a 13 hh pony going up to a 15.2 hh with a smaller head. What we have done here for smaller ponies is to ask our local saddler to shorten the sides which means it fits perfectly and he charges us just £5. The medium would fit from 14 hh Big Head to a finer 16.2 hh, the large is LARGE!"

Martini wears a cob sized headcollar and bridle. Do you think a medium will fit? Or will that be too big? Also if anyone knows of any 2nd hand for sale could they please PM me, thanks!:)

If it's any help I have a red one that fits both Rio (15.1 welsh x) and Tess (15.1 tb) fine, but is towards the top end of the adjustment range. Rio takes a full headstall and cheeks but a cob sized noseband in Sabre sizing if that helps at all? :)

I think she'll probably be the top end of the smaller one. She's normally on the last hole of a cob sized headcollar so I think I'll play it safe and get a medium. If it's a little bit too big I could always punch some holes in it (or if I buy it new, just swap it for the smaller one :))

My boy is a TbxID he has a full size bridle and headcollar and his dually is a medium and it still has more holes left to adjust it.

I think the medium should fit it adjusts quite a bit.
