The girls and I from the barn went to a show on the weekend with out coach. Everone had a pretty great weekend. We are all super proud of the 7 horses we tock, as for 3 of them it was there first show!
Mom and I left Friday for the 2 hour drive to the grounds with my horse. Got there around 3:00. Got there to find my coach, a couple of the girls already there with the 4 horses my RS/RI owns, and the girls where even nice enough to bed down my stall for me. We unloaded all the horses and waited for the other 2 horses to get there with there riders. They got there at aound 4:30ish. Let the horses settle in for another hour then we headed out to school the horses a bit. My guy was so LAZY!!! Came back in bathed my horse and help the others do theres. Then it was time to braid, I go to braid and I am about 1/2 done, when the rest of the crew comes over to me singing happy brithday and carring a cake for me. I open the cards and other goodies to discover $50 gift card to my favrite tack shop, new schooling jods and a new sheepskin half pad. And then they took me out for supper. We came back to the ground and went to sleep, only to be woke up ever 2 1/2 hous by trains passing by a few roads over, so I got hardley any sleep at all.
Saturday had to be the worst day I have had at a show in the last 10 years of my life!!! We only did one class/divsion, the Horse Hunter (jumps where 2'6-2'9). Well my first round ride sucks!!!I ride in to the first and he stops!!!! Thats okay we try again, me riding like a mad woman, we get over it and are on to the second one, he stops again. we cricle back he jumps it no problem, thrid is good, fouth is great! Then 6 gets us big time! A little kid comes running out of the trees on the side of the ring with a blanket flapping be hind him, the child scares the you know what out of both me and my horse so he runs out and we are elimated. No biggie. We go in for our second round, and he is a perfect boy!!!! We get know placing in the the first round/class but in the second round/class we get a 7th. Take him back to the barn unbraid him, bath him, feed him, go for super, come back and braid him for the next day. Then we head to bed, watch a movie and about a 1/2 hour after the movie is done we hear a duck start quacking!!! It didn't stop for at lest and hour, so I didn't get to sleep till about 2 in the morning!!!!
Sunday was our day!!!!!! I rode in the 2' and the 2'3, just to get both of ours confudince back after the day before, used the 2' as a warm up so placings didn't matter to me BUT we did AMAZING!!!! 8th, and 7th in the over fences classes and a 2nd in the flat class!!!!!!! But the was just the beginning! Our 2'3 was even better!!!!!! 3rd and a 4th in the over fences and a 3rd in the flat! I was so proud of my boy he was a star!!!!!
Over all a great weekend! And the best birthday I ahve had in a long time!!!!
