I am looking for a treeless with a bit more padding under the stirrup area than the Barefoot Cheyenne (old no-gullet version).
I have been using my cheyenne very happily for two and half years but i have a friend riding my horse now who is half a stone heavier and i think puts a bit more weight into the stirrups. I was thinking of 'upgrading' to a slightly more expensive treeless for him.

I don't want a Fhoenix (too sqidgy) or an ansur/total sultions (too expensive!)

I am looking at the Torsion/Dartmoor/Freeform range but i don't know how they are constructed or what the underside of the saddle looks like!

Can anyone who has one describe them or post a photo of the underneath/construction?

The Barefoot has a diamond shaped piece of leather with the stirrup bars (rings) on two corners, underneath is a fleece layer and then the bareback pad which has a thin foam layer - so its not really much padding.
I could stick a load of padding or wool rugs under him but he is very round and the saddle already has a tendency to roll round and i think it will make it more unstable ...

The Freeform is made out stiff foam, so distributes the weight more like a treed saddle whilst being flexible.
