Milly had heart bars put on her front feet last night with some blue gel stuff which went hard after about 30 seconds, which is meant to avoid any further concussion. The total for this was £120  I can claim anything over what I normally pay on my insurance but this is still a lot of money to find every shoeing. My farrier has said that the shoes can be refitted next time so I really hope they can be! Who else has heart bars and how much do they cost and how long do they last?

Were they the imprint ones? or glue on ones? Bonnie used to have plain old metal heart bars. £50 per pair. Her imprints were £250 a pair :eek: the metal heart bars would last her a LONG time, she only went through 2 new pairs in 2 years. The imprints came off within 5 days

I had heartbars put on Martini plus equipaks. The total for that was £95. Thankfully a one off as the shoes can be re-used and I believe the farrier doesn't think the equipaks were necessary (vet pushed for them) so I don't think they'll be going on again.
