Wha are the mules like to ride? - i have always wondered

I am reading The Moonshine Mule by Tom Fremantle at mo!

Sarah-lee was my only ride and being a hinnie she had a short donkey trot (lovely canter though)
I've still to get up on Mad Malaga who has a great floating trot that looks very comfortable from the ground:D
I've read that book (skipped all the bits that didn't mention the mule;) It was nice to read a book of someone travelling with a mule who made some effort to talk and understand it even if he didn't quite get it right sometimes--wish he'd ridden and not packed though--packing is for shortears!
