Few SJ pics and vids. As you can see my black mare 'Ebony' is rather keen but ive been working on slowing her down. The bay 'Sparky' has come on loads since i bought him in Jan, we've gone from being disqualified for too many refusals to actually being placed 4th, 4th and 3rd the last 3 times out. Let me know what you think, feel free to critque and any suggestions most welcome :D

What a lovely horse! You look fine to me but I'm not good at spotting mistakes! :)

Hey, I'm not able to watch all of the vids, but the main things are that your lower leg is slipping back a bit and you could prob release a little more with your hand sin some of the pics. Also, I can see right through your legs, you need to keep your knees tucked behind the knee roll and your bum a bit further back rather than up :)

With Ebony, you said she was rushing and she does! Grids will help her with this, especially bounces, also, if you set up a few fences and just ride as if you were having a flat lesson, circling around them etc. when she's really calm and working well just pop over a small jump on a circle and then continue schooling, eventually she won't associate seeing jumps and jumping with going mad, but listening to you and continuing to do so whislt jumping calmly- meaning that she's going to be more acurate and you should enjoy it more and do well- she's very pretty by the way!! :D

Hope this helps :)

Thanks guys. Kristina they are 2'3-2'6 in the vids/pics. Hoping to move back upto bigger classes but gaining confidence with the bay as hes only just started and although the black mare would love to jump 3' tracks again im trying to steady her and trying to work on my position etc
Sonnet thank u, great tips and everything uve spotted is what im working on, def the lower leg and pushin my bottom further back. Releasing i tend to over release or not release quite enough but a new tip aim for the horses mouth rather than the ears seems to be working - just so many things to think about at once: steady her, legs on, solid lower leg pos, release and push bottom back  Dont have a schoolin area so the only jumping we do is at comps as ground is too hard at the mo, possibly moving to a diff yard so wil def use your tips then.:)
