Ciara has been in natural balance since last September (she was in them a few years ago too then I had farrier problems resulting in no natural balance shoes and her going lame and having to get a vet referral to the best farrier in the whole wide world (well IMHO!) who basically saved my horses life. the big crack has been growing out for months. it had opened at the coronet band just before she went lame. whole hoof collapsed but either way, ignore the cracks, that is unrelated to her new farrier and was caused too large a shoe & contracted heels

now i've moved to scotland i've had to change farrier again and they do a 4 point trim and shoe, but its clearly not natural balance, however she is sound but i feel the breakover needs to be ever so slightly further back and the toes a tad shorter. what do you think? she has been shod for 3 weeks.

i have more which i can post as links if you want specific angles. i don't want to post too many. i think the hinds are fine but want opinions on the fronts.

cheers,

Those are a challenge to shoe I bet?

Personally I'd like to see a tiny bit more heel cover, but that's me, I havn't seen the horse move and it might be totally innapropriate for the horse's gait. The foot on the end of the leg suggest a bit more might be nice....also I have no idea what kind of ground you have to ride over and that the horse is kept in!

So really it is hard to say! :)
