Thorowgood 'Fish'??

Can anybody explain to me how the 'fish' thingy's work and where they go?

I just bought a thorowgood maxam pony saddle for one of my ponies, and it came with these 'fish' thingy's! Having never had a thorowgood saddle before I have never seen these and was just wondering how they are used.

Also I am really impressed by the saddle, it is the first saddle to fit her perfectly.
It's so different to the old maxams they had at the place where I learnt too ride, they were awful! A thumbs up to thorowgood from me!

You need to remove the knee rolls, and you will find a slot underneath, just slip them into the slot and replace the knee rolls.
