Watched Faking it last night-one from 2001 where dancer who's never ridden before showjumps (care of Tim Stockdale-hero!) in 4 weeks and she looked like they had her cantering within 2 or 3 lessons. OK, it was intense and she was slumped in the saddle but is this not a fab way to learn?! I wish I could have done it that way: strikes me that I'm still nowhere near jumping-main ambition, 'specially as my sitting trot makes me look like a bag of tatties! Still, had my first bit of roadwork (scary and v busy!) last week and thank God, the horsey was a little angel and my leader was calm and brilliant. Roll on more, more, more!

I think you have to remember that theres a lot you dont see in these programmes!
I know with the 'Only Fools on Horses' programme, they had expert tuition, the best horses and hours in the saddle learning that you didnt actually see!
It would be great if we could all learn that way eh?:D

mmm i see what you are saying but i like taking things slower so you have a longer learning curve and get to just enjoy lessons. But you go for it girl!!:D i guess i dont have an ambition as such - i just want to learn to ride!

I saw this programme when it was first shown, thought it was amazing, but would be interesting to see someone do this who didnt have what she had.... being a dancer, she already had balance and rhythm.... was also pleased at the end when in the taxi going home, said she'd like to carry on, as she felt like she'd learnt a new skill...... :D:D:D
