Well, I am 5' 6 1/2" now... used to be 5' 8". And I have gained weight...Between middle age and not being able to exerise.. am 155lbs right now.
Anyway..
My Grey Ice mare is a stout 12.3 hands..
Other Ice mare that is for sale is 13.2 hands
and the Fjord I just sold was a solid 13.3 hands.
None had problems with my height or weight.
I am not sure what 13 stones in for weight?
From the photo it looks like you would be fine on him but not sure.
Can they send you better photos? That way we can see his build better.
What breed?

I'm not sure you're definatly at the top end weight for that pony you would possibly be better looking for something 14.2hh or over. With natives max weight is normally worked out at 1stone per hand high. My 13.3 new forest mare can only just carry 11 stone and does find it okay when she is fit but I wouldn't want to chance any heavier as she wouldn't be able to sustain any pace other than walk sorry

I'd say you probably want to look for something a bit bigger, 14.2hh cobby type with plenty bone.
But as was said its hard to see from the photo. It also depends on a lot, build of the pony, fitness of the pony, age of the pony, what work your going to be doing with the pony.
My boy is 13.1hh 26 year old welsh x. He's not particualrily cobby but he's not all that fine either, he's somewhere in the middle. I wouldnt put more than 11 stone on him.

I'm about the same weight and I wouldn't buy anything like that.
Add on the weight of the saddle and the possibility of weight gain and I think you'd be better findi9ng something where you are less towards of the top of its carrying capacity. :)
