My sister had a fall from her pony, Bluebell, about 6 months ago now. Since then Bluebell has had lami so not been ridden. She is now fully recovered and completely sound. But my sisters confidence is not what it was, she'll still only lead rein and Bluebell needs riding.
Firstly, is it ok for my older sister to ride her? Bluebell is 11.3h and as you can see quite fat! My sister is 5"5 and 7.5stone. Thats her in the green t-shirt, is she too big?
Secondly, my sister find Bluebells small saddle very difficult to ride so we tried our size 1 barefoot cheyenne. Does it look massively too big? To the extent where it will be hurting her back?
All opinions welcome, thanks.

She should be absolutely fine and the saddle looks ok on her :)

Awr, bless her, shes a gorgeous little mare.:)

The saddle looks okay on her, I dont think its going to hurt her loins or her withers, but to be honest I'm not a fan of treeless as they cause pressure points and the pressure isnt widespread so they can harm a back.

i'm concerned that the pressure is on her loins...the weakest area of the back.
hmm.
i would have a master saddler come out and check her and it, just to be sure.

Enjoy! she's beautiful!

The block at the back of the saddle doesn't have any weight on it so won't put pressure on her loins. If you're concerned you could take the block out and replace it with soft flocking/wool/similar.
