I need to buy some studs for next weekends dressage, I haven't used studs before, although I know what studs I need but am clueless about what else I need. Having looked there are spanners, taps??, and other odd looking things. I want liveryman studs and can't find a complete kit so will have to buy it in bits.
What will I need for a functional stud kit, any advise on what does what would be much appreciated :)

My stud kit has:
big & little studs
an Easy Tap - fabulous invention!
spanner/tap thing (don't use the tap bit though, Easy Tap is so much better)
funny looking thing with a stud hole brush at 1 end & a pointy diggy thing at the other
old shoe clench (best thing for cleaning grit out of stud holes)
cotton wool blobs for stuffing in stud holes after use
vaseline
rubber stoppers (keep forgetting to use them)
metal threaded things to put in the stud hole with an allen key (never use them now - they can get stuck & if you can't get them out you've had it!)
Hope this helps!

This is a great video clip with advice on studding horses. I'm sure it will help anyone with any stud queries!
